Recently, the large - scale original play Backbone, which praises the great spirit of "two bombs and one satellite", has won the "Excellent Play" title jointly awarded by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, Sichuan Drama Association, and Sichuan Play Studio (Sichuan Art Fund Management Center), and has been selected for the third Sichuan Province primary and secondary schools and universities to strengthen the consciousness of the Chinese nation community campus stage play exhibition.

This play is combined with subject and professional characteristics and the actual work of teaching practice by School of Drama and Film which and has explored a new cross - professional integrated teaching model of "curriculum ideological and political education with artistic practice".

Backbone is mainly created by the performance major of School of Drama and Film, SUCA. Since its establishment in December 2023, it has integrated majors such as drama and film stage art design, sound recording art, and film and television photography and production. It takes the students of the performance department as actors, and is jointly created by the combination of students' practical creation and professional teachers' guidance.

The play takes Guo Yonghuai, a hero of "two bombs and one satellite", as the core character. Starting from the perspective of life and the time sequence of the research and development of "two bombs and one satellite", it shows the great spirit of Guo Yonghuai and other scientists who dedicate themselves to the country and work hard to overcome difficulties. It is also a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the successful explosion of China's first atomic bomb and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
